What does a number plate check show?
What the car is (make, model, colour, engine and year), its tax and MOT status, its full MOT history and mileage. The full history check adds stolen, write-off, finance, keeper and plate history and a valuation for £7.49.
Can I find out who owns a car from its registration?
No. We don't show owners' names or addresses. The DVLA only releases keeper details in limited circumstances.
Which vehicles can I check?
Cars, vans and motorbikes registered in Great Britain. Enter the registration exactly as it appears on the number plate.
Why don't the details match the advert?
Sometimes it's a simple mistake in the advert, but a car that doesn't match its records can be a cloned car or have been changed. Ask the seller to explain before you go any further.
